A new private general education school is being built in Karakol with the support of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF). Press service of the fund reported.
The school is designed for 660 students and will work under the patronage of Lomonosov Moscow State University. It is located in the former technical school building, which is morally obsolete and has been idle since 2020. The project provides for its complete reconstruction and acquisition of the necessary equipment and furniture.
«The RKDF quickly considered our project and agreed to allocate $1.5 million,» said Nuria Turdakunova, founder of Lomonosov School.
The project is notable for the fact that 75 percent of the teachers in the school will be invited. For example, natural and technical subjects will be taught by specialists of the Russian Teacher Abroad project. They will teach from 1st through 11th grades according to the best international standards and using the latest equipment. The emphasis will be on learning new technologies and foreign languages. Students will be able to learn modern sciences not only in theory, but also in practice — in fully equipped laboratories.
Chairman of the Board of the RKDF Artem Novikov noted that a project is being prepared at the level of the President of Kyrgyzstan to open a branch of Moscow State University in Karakol. Presence of this school will be of great help in its implementation.
«We hope that the education system in Issyk-Kul region and in the country will be built on the cluster principle. In recent years, the fund has been actively financing projects in this area. We are trying to support the Cabinet of Ministers in implementing a program to increase the availability of quality education in all regions of Kyrgyzstan. Seven schools are being built with our help. All projects that we finance provide for the introduction of the most modern standards of the education system,» Artem Novikov said.
