Rural residents make up 65.1 percent of the total population of the republic. At least 2,453.7 million people (34.9 percent) live in cities. Compared to 2019, the rural population increased by 368,000, and the urban population — by 280,100 people.
In total, according to the latest data, 7,037.6 million people live in Kyrgyzstan. At least 3,557.3 million people of them are women (50.5 percent), and 3,480.3 million people are men (49.5 percent).
