The Foreign Affairs Minister of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev had a telephone conversation with his Swedish counterpart Tobias Billström on the initiative of Sweden. Press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Sweden both in bilateral and multilateral formats. In particular, they noted the importance of maintaining political contacts and organizing mutual visits at various levels.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden briefed on the situation related to the burning of a copy of the Holy Book Quran, noting the government’s position on this issue. Jeenbek Kulubaev voiced the opinion that the official bodies of Sweden should take measures to prevent such negative cases affecting people’s religious feelings.
