Deputy proposes to deprive Sooronbai Jeenbekov of ex-president status

MP Akylbek Tumonbaev proposes to deprive Sooronbai Jeenbekov of the status of ex-president of Kyrgyzstan. He voiced the proposal in an interview with Azattyk radio.

According to the initiator, he has already instructed to calculate the costs that are financed from the state budget for Sooronbai Jeenbekov’s accommodation at Ala-Archa state residence, ensuring his protection and other privileges.

Akylbek Tumonbaev also added that not only Sooronbai Jeenbekov himself, but also his family members and relatives enjoy the privileges. He promised to raise this issue in the Parliament and submit a relevant bill. The deputy also intends to appeal to the President Sadyr Japarov.

«I will try to deprive this person of the status of ex-president, because he does not deserve this status,» he said.

Akylbek Tumonbaev is the co-father-in-law of Sadyr Japarov.

On October 6, 2020, the Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan was forced to declare the election results invalid after mass protests and then riots began in Bishkek.
