Festive Ait prayer will take place in Bishkek on the Old Square on June 28. The Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (SDMK) reported.
The event will start at 6 a.m.
According to SDMK, religious leaders are scheduled to speak until 7 a.m.
The Supreme Mufti of the country will speak from 7 a.m. to 7.30 a.m. He will congratulate the Kyrgyzstanis on the holiday and preach a sermon.
The Ait prayer itself will start at 7.30 a.m.
Kurman Ait is one of the sacred holidays of the Muslims, which unites people and allows them to realize themselves as a single entity. The holiday symbolizes fidelity to duty, wisdom, tolerance, readiness for self-sacrifice for the sake of high ideals.
On this day, the Muslims are required to perform the rite of sacrifice.
