President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov proposed to transfer two checkpoints on China — Kyrgyzstan border to round-the-clock working schedule. He said it at a meeting with the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang as part of his state visit to China. Press service of the head of state reported.
The parties exchanged views on a wide range of issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China.
Li Qiang noted the successful completion of the first Central Asia — China Summit of the Heads of State, emphasizing that the Xi’an Declaration outlined a new plan for the development of relations between the countries of Central Asia and China, new directions for deepening cooperation.
The Premier expressed confidence that effective Kyrgyzstan — China strategic multifaceted cooperation would be built under the leadership of the two leaders.
«We are ready together with our Kyrgyz friends to implement the important agreements reached between the two countries. China will always be a reliable partner of Kyrgyzstan,» Li Qiang assured.
He said that the Chinese side firmly supports the path of development chosen by the people of Kyrgyzstan, and is ready to assist in the implementation of the National Development Program of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2026.
Li Qiang noted the positive dynamics in mutual trade between the two countries. According to him, China has a huge market and is open to Kyrgyzstan, in connection with which he expressed interest in import of high-quality agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan.
He added that China supports expansion of cooperation in regional development, improving infrastructure at checkpoints, wind and hydropower, and other mutually beneficial projects.
The Premier of the State Council also stressed the special importance of implementation of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway construction project.
Touching upon cooperation in the field of tourism, he emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is included in the list of countries recommended for visiting by tourists from China.
In turn, President Sadyr Japarov noted that Kyrgyzstan — China relations are at the highest level to date. According to him, productive talks were held in Xian with Chinese President Xi Jinping, at which important agreements were reached on the further development and strengthening of relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields, in the field of security, as well as on interaction in the international arena.
«It is important to note that Kyrgyzstan — China relations have reached a new qualitative level — a comprehensive strategic partnership. There are no political disagreements or unresolved issues between our countries. We provide each other with support on topical, vital issues for each of our states,» Sadyr Japarov said.
The President stressed that the Kyrgyz side welcomes and invites Chinese state and private enterprises, investors to do business in Kyrgyzstan, implement joint economic and investment projects.
«A large and important Kyrgyzstan — China joint project today is the construction of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway. Construction of this railway is the contribution of our countries to the practical implementation of the initiative of the Chinese President Xi Jinping on the joint construction of the One Belt, One Road,» Sadyr Japarov said.
The President also noted that the work of checkpoints on Kyrgyzstan — China state border plays one of the key roles in increasing the level of mutual trade.
To optimize their work, the Kyrgyz side proposes to transfer Torugart and Irkeshtam checkpoints to a round-the-clock seven-day working schedule.
At the same time, the head of state paid attention to the opportunities for cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China on e-commerce projects and the introduction of digital financial technologies.
In conclusion, Sadyr Japarov invited Li Qiang to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan and take part in the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO Member States.
