Ban on import of fish from Kyrgyzstan to Russia to be lifted

Only a part of the fish farms can resume exports to Russia. The Minister of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan Askarbek Dzhanybekov announced at a meeting of the Parliament.

According to him, export of Kyrgyz fish to Russia will resume this week.

«We have suffered because of unscrupulous exporters who are engaged in the re-export of fish products with antibiotics. A commission from Russia inspected nine enterprises. The head of the veterinary department is now in Moscow, he met with the head of Rosselkhoznadzor yesterday. There is an agreement. Exports will be resumed during this week, but not for everyone. Only for those who meet the requirements. To our shame, we must admit that most of the businessmen did business in bad faith. Therefore, such a problem arose. We are trying to resolve the issue,» the minister said.

In February, Rosselkhoznadzor asked the Veterinary Service of Kyrgyzstan to suspend certification of trout and trout caviar sent to Russia.
