The state bodies of Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are working on the preparation of intergovernmental agreements on migration. The exact date of signing the documents is still unknown, Altynai Omurbekova, Director of the Department of Labor Migration and Social Protection of the Eurasian Economic Commission, said.
«The point, as I understand it, is to have some kind of pre-departure training for people who go to work, in particular to Russia. Information will be provided for them specifically on legislative requirements, issues of cultural adaptation, perhaps there will be language courses,» Altynai Omurbekova told reporters.
Earlier, the director of the third department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexander Sternik, also reported that Russia planned to sign an agreement on migration in 2023.
According to him, work is underway in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to open pre-migration training centers. It is planned that in the centers those wishing to enter Russia will be provided with a set of services, in particular registration.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, analyzed by FinExpertiza, 3.47 million foreign citizens entered Russia in 2022. At least 377,000 people of them entered from Uzbekistan, 336,000 — from Tajikistan, and 84,000 — from Kyrgyzstan.
