The third waste sorting point has started working in Bishkek. Press service of the City Hall reported.
The sorting point is located in Tunguch microdistrict on Ankara Street.
«A special eco-site for primary sorting of waste was built taking into account national and international, sanitary and hygienic standards. The total area is 100 square meters. Twelve containers, two video surveillance cameras were installed. The site was connected to the central communication systems: water supply, sewerage system and electricity. A room of 15-16 square meters was equipped for a worker who will sort the waste,» the City Hall noted.
The goals of the project are to instill in the citizens a culture of separate waste collection and the development of environmental consciousness, improve the environmental situation and maintain health, attract private companies and increase the revenue of the city.
The first point for sorting solid household waste began to operate in Bishkek in early January. At the end of January, the City Hall announced opening of the second point, which is located near Bishkek Park shopping center.
