The Bishkek City Court is considering complaints about a measure of restraint against activists accused of attempt to organize mass riots.
During consideration of legality of detention of ex-MPs Asiya Sasykbayeva and Ravshan Dzheenbekov, an activist Ondurush Toktonasyrov staged a protest. He unfolded banners with inscriptions «Freedom to Asiya, Rita, Gulnara, Perizat».
The presiding judge Mirad Dineyev reprimanded the activist. He said that Ondurush Toktonasirov could hold a rally outside the court building.
Mass arrests began on October 23. Authorities placed 26 people in jail on charges of preparing for riots.
A number of international human rights organizations such as the International Partnership for Human Rights (IPHR), the World Organization Against Torture (OMCT), the Norwegian Helsinki Committee (NHC), the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights (HFHR), Freedom Now and others issued a statement calling for the immediate release of politicians and activists arrested in Kyrgyzstan.
