Four mountain passes were closed for traffic by order of local state administrations. The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The ministry notes that this is due to weather conditions.
As of today, passage through Kalmak-Ashuu pass on Sary-Bulak — Son-Kol road and Kynda pass on At-Bashy — Kynda — Torugart road is closed. Today it was decided to close Moldo-Ashuu pass on Kurtka — Sonkul and Sary-Kyr pass on Kazarman — Jalal-Abad road.
About 7-8 centimeters thick snow fell on Moldo-Ashuu pass in Ak-Tala district on October 31. Special vehicles were sent there to clear the roadway. But due to difficult weather and climatic conditions, they could not pass. Workers manually scattered inert anti-slip materials on the roadway to ensure the passage of trucks with coal. Until the closure, coal was regularly transported through the pass from Kara-Keche pit to the regional center of Aktala district.
