WBA World Boxing Champion Dmitry Bivol arrives in Bishkek

WBA world light heavyweight boxing champion Dmitry Bivol arrived in Bishkek. The Boxing Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The athlete will train for the upcoming title defense in Kyrgyzstan. The training camp will take place in Tamga from August 9 to August 28. Answering journalists’ questions, Dmitry Bivol noted that this was his fifth visit to his homeland.

«My children have also already been to Kyrgyzstan during one of the training camps. My friend Daniyar, with whom we trained in the same gym, sometimes tells me what’s new in Kyrgyzstan. As for the local boxers, I know Rustambek uulu Nuradin, Azat Usenaliev,» he said.

Dmitry Bivol was born on December 18, 1990 in Tokmak. He became interested in boxing at the age of six and began training under the guidance of a coach Vyacheslav Sharapov. The winner of the Championship of Kyrgyzstan among youths was a member of the youth team of the country. At the age of 15 he moved to Russia.
