The President of the Kyrgyz Republic made a press statement following the talks with the leader of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to Sadyr Japarov, the talks were held in an atmosphere of full understanding, openness and trust, which characterize the fraternal relations between the states.
«We confirmed the invariability of the course to intensify and expand friendly relations. Today we have raised the level of relations between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan to a strategic partnership. We have just signed a corresponding declaration. This is an important document of historic nature and, quite obviously, a new stage in the development of our relations was achieved through the efforts of both sides,» he said.
The head of state also noted that Kyrgyzstan is aimed at active interaction at international platforms, strengthening the political dialogue, establishment and development of closer economic ties, joint implementation of major investment projects, as well as further strengthening of humanitarian cooperation.
«Today we have also established an Interstate Council, meetings of which will address the most important issues of development of relations between our countries. A total of 10 important documents and agreements were signed, including on cooperation in areas such as agriculture, information technology, air travel, antitrust regulation and intellectual property protection.
We have ample opportunities for practical cooperation in the trade and economic sphere.
Today we are taking steps to liberalize our economy. The investment legislation is being improved, in connection with which investment cooperation of the Kyrgyz Republic with many countries is intensifying. In this regard, we invite Azerbaijani business circles to actively study investment opportunities in our republic. I am glad to state the mutual enrichment of the peoples of our countries through an active cultural and humanitarian partnership. Cultural figures carry out regular exchanges, contributing to the strengthening of true bridges of friendship between our peoples,» he said.
According to Sadyr Japarov, the country is interested not only in strengthening bilateral ties, but also in promoting multilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan.
«As you know, our countries are working closely within the UN, the Organization of Turkic States, the CIS, the OIC, the Non-Aligned Movement. For its part, Kyrgyzstan fully supports raising of Azerbaijan’s status in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to the level of an observer. Today’s deep transformations in the world give us a historic chance to build a new type of relations, to make them more humane, to put such primordially Turkic values as dignity and honor at the forefront. These new relations in the Turkic space must become an example of interstate relations of a new time,» the statement says.
Difficult times require strong leaders who have the responsibility to make their states stronger and the world a better place.
