Trade Unions Federation’s member Venera Maimendeeva placed in remand prison

Member of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan Venera Maimendeeva was placed in a remand prison. The Chui Regional Court informed 24.kg news agency.

The decision was made by the Alamedinskiy District Court. Venera Maimendeeva will be in custody until February 3, 2022.

Earlier it was reported that Venera Maimendeeva was detained on January 20 in Issyk-Kul region and brought to Chui region. According to persons close to her, the chairman of the Federation, Mirbek Asanakunov, wrote a statement against her in 2019. The investigator allegedly could not find the woman for three years. She is suspected of fraud.

Scandal in trade unions continues for almost two years. Litigation on the topic who is the real chairman of the Federation continues to this day. On February 5, 2020, at a meeting of the Council of the supreme governing body of the Federation, a decision was made to remove Mirbek Asanakunov from the post of Chairman. Members of the Federation have repeatedly stated about the pressure from him.

Sagyn Bozgunbaev was registered with the justice authorities as the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan. However, not everyone accepted this appointment.
