The Foreign Affairs Ministry of Kyrgyzstan handed a note of protest to the Consul of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the ministry reported.
The reason is the detention and beating of Kyrgyzstani Cholponbek Sydykov in Almaty.
«The Kyrgyz side expressed concern about the actions of individual law enforcement officers of Kazakhstan, who took illegal actions against the citizen of Kyrgyzstan that caused serious harm to health,» the statement says.
The diplomats drew attention to the need for a thorough and objective investigation to clarify all the circumstances of the incident and bring to justice all the guilty officials and pay compensation for causing grievous bodily harm to Cholponbek Sydykov.
It was reported earlier that the missing citizen of Kyrgyzstan Cholponbek Sydykov was found in Almaty. He said that he was beaten in the district police department of the city. The day before, he was brought to Bishkek and hospitalized in the Bishkek Scientific Research Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics in serious condition — the man has many injuries and fractures.
