At least 1,168 people are registered by the Interior Ministry of Kyrgyzstan as members of organized crime groups. Since the beginning of 2021, criminal police officers arrested 185 of them. The Interior Ministry’s press service reported.
«The detainees are suspected of committing 155 different crimes, including 5 cases of brigandage, 4 robberies, 61 frauds, 5 extortions, 21 cases of hooliganism, 13 thefts and other offenses,» the statement says.
From among the detained, nine people have a high status in the criminal environment. Six firearms, including pistols and a sawn-off shotgun, were seized from the members of organized crime groups.
