Terrorist planning to leave for Syria detained in Kyrgyzstan

A terrorist who was planning to participate in jihad against government forces of Syria was arrested in Kyrgyzstan. Press center of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to the committee, a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic, native of Batken region, was detained during counter-terrorism measures to detect and suppress recruitment and sending of recruits to the ranks of international terrorist organizations (MTO) prohibited in the republic.

Being in labor migration in one of CIS countries, he was recruited by emissaries through social networks, after which he underwent primary military training. He planned to leave for Turkey and join a group of mercenaries from other states, illegally cross Turkey-Syria border to continue participation in the jihad against the government forces of Syria.

The detainee was placed in a pretrial detention center of the State Committee for National Security. The investigation is underway.

Previously, security services of Kyrgyzstan detained a member of an international terrorist organization also recruited in one of the CIS countries.
