Kyrgyzstan takes 69th place in Good Country Index

Kyrgyzstan took the 69th place out of 153 in the Good Country Index, which shows measure of what each country on earth contributes to the common good of humanity. Website of the index says.

Experts evaluated the states according to 30 parameters. Data from various international organizations such as the UN, UNICEF and the IMF were taken as a basis.

The index shows how a single country influences the common good of humanity in accordance with its size. Experts put at the top of the list those states that bring universal benefit, and at the bottom of the rating — those that are a burden.

Most of the indicators in the Kyrgyz Republic are not the best.

Thus, the worst indicators were recorded in the export of creative goods (99th place), charity (99th place), state of the environment, depending on the size of the economy (97th place) and food aid (92nd place).

The situation is slightly better with the openness of trade (63rd place) and the number of foreign students in the republic (67th place). Kyrgyzstan’s best indicator is the number of peacekeepers sent to UN missions (21st place).

As for the closest neighbors: Georgia takes the 39th place, Russia — the 41st, Armenia — the 45th, Belarus — the 54th, Ukraine — the 75th, Kazakhstan — the 105th place. Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan are not represented in the ranking.

The most useful for the society countries are Finland, Ireland and Sweden, and the most burdensome are Iraq, Libya and Yemen.
