Ex-speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Akhmatbek Keldibekov decided to break the anti-record of the former president of the country and filed a lawsuit in court. The defendants are journalists of April TV channel and its founder Almazbek Atambayev. The plaintiffs are also the former Prosecutor General Azimbek Beknazarov and the head of the State Committee for National Security Keneshbek Duishebaev. Civil activist Adil Turdukulov told.
According to him, Akhmatbek Keldibekov, Azimbek Beknazarov and Keneshbek Duishebaev intend to recover material damage from Almazbek Atambayev and his TV channel. The amount of the claim is 18 million soms. Former high-ranking officials were outraged by Almazbek Atambayev’s interview with the television channel, in which he spoke out in their address.
It was reported earlier that Akhmatbek Keldibekov was suing three more media outlets — Kyrgyztoday, Asia News and Argument.kg. The total amount of claims is 4 million soms.
As the lawyer of Akhmatbek Keldibekov, Gulya Ryskulova, told 24.kg news agency, the politician withdrew his material claims to Asia News and Argument.kg. He was satisfied with a refutation. The trial with Kyrgyztoday continues.
