181 members of criminal groups detained in Kyrgyzstan in 2018

At least 181 members of organized criminal groups have been detained in Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of the year. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Kashkar Dzhunushaliev announced this at a press conference today.

According to him, 22,948 incidents and crimes have been registered in 2018. At least 15,294 crimes have been revealed during operational activities.

About 18,503 criminal cases were initiated by the bodies of internal affairs, 12,712 of them were completed and sent to court. During this time, 1,538 criminals were detained, 181 of them are members of the organized criminal groups.

A criminal group was arrested on suspicion of murder of an exchange office employee in April 2014. The involvement of this group in other similar attacks has been established.

Another criminal group was detained on suspicion of arson of Octopus cafe in Cholpon-Ata.
