The work to change the streamway and build a temporary dam to remove the threat of possible flooding of 18 residential buildings is underway on Kara-Darya river. Press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to it, on April 11, the Minister Kubatbek Boronov visited Uzgen district of Osh region, where he instructed to strengthen the installation of a temporary 200-meter dam, to change the riverbed to remove the threat of possible flooding of residential buildings. 10 units of equipment were engaged.
As noted, the construction of a permanent dam requires about 600 million soms. The work was not conducted due to lack of money.
