Budget deficit of Kyrgyzstan to reach 3.8 percent of GDP in 2018

In 2018, Kyrgyzstan’s budget deficit will amount to 20.3 billion soms, or 3.8 percent of GDP. This was announced today during public hearings by the Finance Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev.

According to him, sources of financing have already been provided for reducing the deficit, these are mainly the external ones. At the same time, budget revenues in the next three years will increase by 7.5 percent.

Deputy Taabaldy Tillaev linked the problems of Kyrgyzstan with the fact that the country had entered the Eurasian Economic Union unprepared.

«We have low wages and deteriorating relations with neighboring countries. This showed that we were not ready to enter the EEU. The situation at the border also affected the budget of 2018. The budget deficit is known to us, but we believe that the government will cope with this task. The government’s program should be implemented,» Taabaldy Tillaev stressed.
