Almost 700 people died on roads of Kyrgyzstan since beginning of 2017

For 10 months of 2017, 695 people died on the roads of Kyrgyzstan. This is 9.8 percent less than in 2016. This was announced today at a press conference by the deputy chief of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Patrol Police, Ymanaly Sarkulov.

According to him, since the beginning of the year, there were 5,197 accidents in the republic. This is 8.3 percent more than the data for the same period of 2016. The number of deaths has decreased, but the number of injured in accidents has increased. 7,739 people were injured, which is 6.5 percent more than last year.

The lion’s share of accidents is pedestrians (42.9 percent) and car collisions (33 percent). In addition, statistics show that 21 percent of accidents are caused by drivers with less than three years’ experience.
