The license for the development of Bozymchak, the country’s largest copper-gold deposit, was renewed. The press secretary of KAZ Minerals Bozymchak LLC Elena Tregubova confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
Earlier, the company received a notice on suspending the license for three months with reference to Article 27 of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic On Subsoil.
Ulanbek Ryskulov, Chairman of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Mineral Resources, told to 24.kg news agency about the reasons for the suspension of the license. He informed about the received letter from the State Inspectorate for Environmental and Technical Safety that the inspection revealed ecology and industrial safety violations by KAZ Minerals Bozymchak. According to the chairman of the State Committee, suspension of the license is a standard procedure for eliminating the violations detected.
«Previously revealed violations were eliminated by KAZ Minerals Bozymchak, and the State Inspection submitted an act on this, the fine was paid, and the commission renewed the license,» Ulanbek Ryskulov added.

According to the government, the company’s annual payments are estimated at 310 million soms. The explored reserves of copper amount to 140,078 tons, gold — 22.96 tons, silver — 144.2 tons. At the beginning of 2017, more than $ 430 million was invested in the project.
