Suspect of cooperation with terrorists detained in Kyrgyzstan

A suspect of cooperation with an international terrorist organization was detained in Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the State Committee for National Security.

According to it, a Kyrgyz citizen, born in 1997, was recruited abroad by emissaries of an international terrorist organization in 2016 and transferred to Syria for subversive and terrorist training.

«After combat training, the Kyrgyzstani was sent home to create a terrorist underground,» the GKNB press center noted.

At the place of residence of the detainee, a search was carried out and a gun IZh 58-20m was seized. The investigation bodies of the State National Security Committee initiated a criminal case under articles 242 «Illegal Making or Repair of Weapons», 226-4 (participation in armed conflicts or military operations in the territory of a foreign state or passage of terrorist and extremist training) and 299-1 (participation in the activities of a public association and religious or other extremist organization) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The detainee was placed in the pre-trial detention center of the GKNB. The investigation is under way.
