2nd attacker at Kadyr Malikov sentenced to 18 years in prison

The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek sentenced the second attacker at the famous theologian Kadyr Malikov. Yryskul Beishenaliev was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

Recall, Kadyr Malikov was attacked on November 26, 2015, when he was leaving one of Bishkek shops. He received several stab wounds.

One of the criminals was detained in hot pursuit. Alibek Tilek uulu was sentenced to life imprisonment. However, the second instance court rescinded this verdict and issued a decision on imprisonment for 20 years.

Yryskul Beishenaliev was put on the international wanted list. He hid in Turkey. Later, he was detained there and extradited to Kyrgyzstan. By decision of the court, Yryskul Beishenaliev was recognized as a member of the terrorist group Islamic State.

Kadyr Malikov associated this attack with an attempt by Islamic State group to kill him. He is an opponent of local and international religious and radical figures, and criticizes the activities of extremist and terrorist groups.
