World Bank forecast: economic growth to slow down in 2017

The World Bank made a forecast for Kyrgyzstan for 2017. The economic growth of the republic will slow down, Economist of WB office in the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Dubashov said today at a press conference.

According to him, in 2016, the budget deficit had sharply increased. As for the revenue side, income of the state decreased. There were non-tax revenues in 2015, which helped to maintain a balance.

The World Bank does not expect any sharp changes in 2017. «The region, including Russia, is gradually recovering, adapting to new prices for petroleum products. In 2017, growth will slow down a little, and in 2018 — will recover. Poverty will decrease due to the stable production of agricultural products and the growth in the remittances from migrants," Bakyt Dubashov said.
