Number of bank cards in Kyrgyzstan growing. International systems predominate

The number of bank cards in Kyrgyzstan in the first quarter of 2017 increased by one third. At the same time, Kyrgyzstanis prefer international payment systems. Such data is given in the National Bank of the country.

It is noted that as of March 31, 2017, there were 1,692,600 cards in circulation in the republic. Compared with the same period last year, their number increased by 31.8 percent. At the same time, most of the market is occupied by international transfer systems (60.7 percent of the market). The national system «Elcart» accounts for 39.3 percent of the cards.

At the same time, bank payment cards were accepted for servicing in 1,319 ATMs and 7,383 terminals installed throughout the republic. Compared with the same period last year, the growth of ATMs was 28.3 percent, and terminals — 50 percent.
