Lawyers of Ata Meken leader demand to recover 120 million soms for slander from the President Almazbek Atambayev. Lawyers Taalaygul Toktakunova and Kanatbek Aziz informed 24.kg news agency.
According to them, they filed a suit against the false accusation of Tekebayev, Aida Salyanova and Almambet Shykmamatov of involvement in MegaCom shares trust through an offshore in
«We take this as a slanderous statement, discrediting the honor and dignity of the leader of the faction and two deputies. Moral damage is estimated at 120 million soms," Kanatbek Aziz said.
The lawsuit was filed in Pervomayskiy District Court of Bishkek.
Omurbek Tekebayev previously stated that Belizegate issue for him is a matter of principle, since he was accused almost of treason.
Note, this is the second lawsuit of Ata Meken against the head of state. The first was filed after the speech of Almazbek Atambayev at the ceremony of presenting state awards where the President called the party of the Socialists «stinky.»
Omurbek Tekebayev was taken into custody in GKNB until April 25. He is accused of corruption and fraud.
