President Sadyr Japarov amended the Decree «On National Projects, Implementation of which is of Strategic Importance for the Country.»
The goal is to clarify the definition of projects of national importance and expand the list of initiatives eligible for such status.
According to the new version, projects of national importance will include not only projects for the creation and development of strategic infrastructure facilities in public administration, economy, tourism, and the social sector, but also projects related to the preparation and holding of international sporting, cultural, tourism, and other socially significant events.
Moreover, such projects must be implemented based on decisions of the president or the Cabinet of Ministers and financed in whole or in part from the state budget, raised funds, or using state assets.
As noted in the decree, the changes are aimed at ensuring the systematic implementation of national investment and socially significant projects, developing infrastructure, increasing the country’s investment attractiveness, creating new jobs, and improving the quality of life of the population.
