Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan agree on joint border patrols

Two meetings of border representatives of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan were held at the initiative of the Kyrgyz side. The State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The first meeting took place at Samarkandek border outpost of Batken border detachment with the participation of representatives for Batken and Isfara sectors. The second was held at Kairagach-Avtodorozhny checkpoint, where border representatives for Leilek and Ganchin sectors met.

During the talks, the parties held practical exercises on border guard behavior on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border, clarified the interaction plan for 2026, and agreed on dates for joint patrols.

The Border Service noted that the meetings were held in a businesslike and constructive atmosphere and confirmed the parties’ readiness to strengthen the border regime and maintain stability in border areas.

Following the official part, friendly matches in mini-football and table tennis were held.
