IMF forecasts continued global economic growth in 2025

The global economy is forecast to continue growing in 2024 and 2025 (3.2 percent), with growth rates remaining relatively stable until 2029 (3.1 percent). These data are contained in the IMF report «Regional Economic Outlook: Middle East and Central Asia».

It is noted that these data are generally consistent with the forecast presented in April.

The forecast for economic activity in the United States in 2024 has been revised upward to 2.8 percent due to growth in consumption and investment in residential real estate.

A more gradual slowdown in economic growth is expected in China. According to the forecast, the Chinese economy will grow by 4.8 percent in 2024 as a result of the resumption of fiscal support and the recovery of exports.

Global inflation continues to gradually decline. Experts believe that global inflation will fall to 5.8 percent this year and further decrease to 4.3 percent by 2025.

However, the pace of disinflation is expected to accelerate in advanced economies, while slowing in emerging markets and developing countries.
