Police destroy more than 3 tons of wild hemp in Batken

Wild hemp is being destroyed in Batken region of Kyrgyzstan. The press service of the Internal Affairs Department of the region reports.

According to it, the first stage of Poppy 2024 event is underway. Police officers and representatives of local authorities are working in Kadamdzhai, Leilek and Batken regions to destroy the wild hemp.

In total, seven hectares of land were examined. At least 3,200 kilograms of wild hemp were destroyed.

«In addition, explanatory work is being carried out in these areas with citizensб who have previously been convicted in drug cases and are registered,» the Department of Internal Affairs noted.
