Queue of trucks on Kyrgyzstan - Kazakhstan border is growing

«The situation is getting worse, the number of vehicles on the Kyrgyzstan — Kazakhstan border is growing,» Igor Golubev, Deputy Chairman of the Association of International Freight Carriers of Kyrgyzstan, told 24.kg news agency.

According to him, in the first two days, the traffic jam at Ak-Tilek checkpoint increased from the bypass road to Kant cement plant. Now it is growing along the bypass road.

«The traffic jam from Ken Bulun side has already grown beyond Hawaii recreation center. Only empty trucks are allowed to pass there. But even they can’t get through now. The traffic jam at Chaldovar checkpoint is also increasing. So, for the time being, there is no talk of decisions or agreements reached,» Igor Golubev noted.

Recall, about 430 trucks are waiting in line to leave Kyrgyzstan in front of Ak-Tilek-Avtodorozhny checkpoint.

From August 21 to August 22, at least 274 vehicles entered Kyrgyzstan from Kazakhstan.

The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic did not impose any restrictions, and the checkpoint is operating as usual. The authorities of Kazakhstan announced holding of an anti-drug operation.
