Baktybek Amanbaev was appointed an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kyrgyzstan to Canada concurrently with residence in Washington. Press service of the head of state reported.
The corresponding decree was signed by the President Sadyr Japarov.
Baktybek Amanbaev was appointed Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the United States in April 2021.
He is a former Ombudsman. Amanbaev was relieved of his post in 2015.
The name of Baktybek Amanbaev is also associated with scandals. In 2008, following an audit, the Accounts Chamber revealed financial violations in the activities of the advertising department of the OTRK, which was headed by Baktybek Amanbaev from 2005 to 2007. The auditors concluded that as a result of understating of the established tariffs, the treasury did not receive 49 million soms.
