The President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held negotiations as part of his state visit to the country. Press service of the head of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The leaders of the states discussed the current directions and prospects of bilateral cooperation, measures to build up interaction in all areas of mutual interest.
Sadyr Japarov noted that the state visit of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, is of great historical importance not only in cooperation between the two countries, but also in relations with the Arab world as a whole.
«I am sure that your visit will open a new page in Kyrgyzstan — Qatar fraternal relations based on mutual trust and will give a great impetus to the further development of cooperation in various areas. Qatar continues the path of development with confidence and achieves outstanding success in the international arena. You are the first from the Arab world who visited Kyrgyzstan at this time. The political partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Qatar has been going on for 25 years, mutual visits at various levels and a number of important events have taken place. In addition, we closely cooperate within the framework of the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international organizations and provide mutual support to the electoral bodies. It is gratifying that bilateral documents are being signed today between our states in various fields,» he stressed.
The President emphasized that Kyrgyzstan highly appreciates the sincere attention and personal support from the Emir of Qatar.
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani thanked for the invitation and hospitality. He noted that it is his first visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, which marks an important milestone in bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Qatar. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Emir of Qatar stressed that bilateral cooperation between the states would be expanded through joint efforts following his visit to the republic. In particular, new opportunities will open up in the trade and economic sphere, infrastructure, tourism, agriculture and other areas.
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani added that as part of the political partnership between the countries, a number of events will be held, including at the government level. He emphasized that the state bodies of the two countries should carry out appropriate work in this direction.
He intends to raise cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Qatar to the level of a comprehensive partnership, the Sheikh said.
The leaders of the states reaffirmed their readiness for development and deepening of bilateral cooperation in all sectors and practical implementation of joint investment projects.
