Osh city hosts VII International Festival of World Epics

The VII International Epics of the Peoples of the World Festival, held on the occasion of the 95^th anniversary of the birth of Chingiz Aitmatov and the 125^th anniversary of Mukhtar Auezov, started on the central square of Osh city on May 17. Press service of the City Hall of the southern capital of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Within the framework of the festival, an ethnic Kyrgyz Kochu village was opened, as well as exhibition-fairs of craftsmen, traditional events and rituals «tunduk kotoruu», «tushoo kesuu» were held.

The opening ceremony ended with a festive cultural ethno program with the participation of creative teams from Kazakhstan, the Republics of Tuva, Sakha-Yakutia, Khakassia, artists from Altai and Kyrgyzstan.

The festival will last until May 20.
