Bishkek will host SNOW LEOPARD RUN 2022. Its organizer Arslan Maldybaev announced at a meeting with journalists.
«SNOW LEOPARD RUN is one of the charity international half marathons. A significant part of the funds received as entry fees from the participants will be transferred to the Global Snow Leopard and Ecosystem Protection Program,» he said.
About 5,000 people are expected to take part in the race. Runners will start from the central Ala-Too square. The race route will run along the central streets. There will be six distances:
- 21.1 kilometers;
- 14 kilometers;
- 5 kilometers;
- 1 kilometer;
- kid’s run;
- regional (online run).
According to the organizers, runners from 3 to 11 years old will be able to take part in the children’s race. They will cover a distance of 100, 200 and 500 meters.
The first such race was held in Bishkek in 2019. At least 3,600 runners from 20 countries, including France, Italy, Great Britain, the USA and North Korea, participated in it.
