There are no registered cases of monkeypox in Kyrgyzstan. The Acting Minister of Health Zharkynbek Kasymbekov told at a press conference.
According to him, the system of sanitary and epidemiological control is ready to respond quickly.
«If a case is registered in the country, then there is already an approved algorithm of actions,» Zharkynbek Kasymbekov said.
He urged citizens visiting countries with registered monkeypox cases to follow simple preventive measures: exclude contact with sick people, wash their hands.
The WHO has declared monkeypox a public health emergency.
Monkeypox is a rare infectious disease most prevalent in remote areas of Central and West Africa. Its symptoms are nausea, fever, rash, itching, and muscle pain.
