COVID-19: Laboratory sells fake PCR test results in Jalal-Abad

A scheme for production and distribution of fake electronic certificates of negative PCR test result with QR codes of Medicana Plus diagnostic laboratory has been established in Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan. Press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reports.

The laboratory staff colluded with the air ticket offices to sell counterfeit PCR test results to citizens travelling outside the Kyrgyz Republic. The cost of one certificate ranged from 1,100 to 1,600 soms.

«Some of the air ticket offices used WhatsApp for sending copies of passports of citizens in need of PCR tests to an employee of Medicana Plus laboratory. Later, from the laboratory’s head office, ready-made fake certificates with negative PCR test result were transmitted via an electronic database to territorial Medicana Plus laboratories. A similar scheme was detected in Bazar-Korgon district. A medical worker at the laboratory’s branch sold PCR tests and sent money through Finca Elsom terminals to Medicana Plus head office,» the state committee reported.
