Military Prosecutor’s Office of Kyrgyzstan banned Digital Technologies LLC from resuming broadcasting of Aprel channel. Channel’s official website says.
It is noted that the corresponding letter to the Director of Digital Technologies LLC Kubat Otorbaev was received today, on November 26, 2019. Aprel TV channel planned to resume its broadcasting today.
«In its message, the Military Prosecutor’s Office recalled that according to the decision of the Pervomaisky Court of Bishkek, the share of Aprel TV in Digital Technologies LLC was seized. According to the investigator of the Military Prosecutor’s Office Kanat Birimkulov, the fact of the property seizure of the share means that the director of Aprel Dmitry Lozhnikov «does not have the right and authority to make any claims to Digital Technologies LLC, including the broadcasting of Aprel TV channel,» the website cites excerpts from the investigator’s letter.
The investigator emphasizes that the general meeting of the founders of Digital Technologies held on November 21, at which it was decided to allow the broadcasting of Aprel television channel and the Channel 7, was illegal.
Nevertheless, the Military Prosecutor’s Office appealed against the minutes of the meeting in court. The agency threatened to suspend through the court the activities of the entire Digital Technologies LLC, which includes 21 television channels «in case of such violations of the requirements of the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, in particular, failure to comply with judicial acts that have entered into force.»
Broadcasting of the TV channel was interrupted on August 7, 2019 during the storm of the house of the former president Almazbek Atambayev in Koi-Tash. On August 9, investigative authorities sealed the Media Forum building, where the SDPK headquarters and the television company’s office are located. Thus, the work of Aprel TV was almost blocked.
