Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan issued a decision to reduce the sentence of the power industry expert Ernest Karybekov to 11 years. The Committee for Protection of Political Prisoners told 24.kg news agency.
Earlier, lawyers of the expert Ernest Karybekov petitioned for a review of his term of imprisonment in connection with the entry into force of the new edition of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Ernest Karybekov was sentenced by the court to 14 years in prison under the article «Concealment of a crime» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. He is serving a sentence in the penal colony No. 3.
Convicted together with Ernest Karybekov Kubanychbek Kadyrov and Bektur Asanov were released on parole.
