Aikol Ala-Too Public Association accuses current president of the country and his brother of allowing to gather thieves and corrupt officials around them. Open letter distributed by the heroes of the April revolution says.
Aikol Ala-Too also believes that pressure is exerted on members of the association after its former head Meerbek Miskenbaev reminded the authorities on March 17, 2018 that Bakiyev’s family clan rule was the main reason for the April revolution and demanded from the brother of the president of Kyrgyzstan Asylbek Jeenbekov to refuse his deputy seat.
«Since that time, the authorities, under various pretexts, have put pressure on members of the public association Aikol Ala-Too, and we also declare that a raider attack has recently been made in order to seize our public association,» the letter says.
Members of Aikol Ala-Too also state that it was decided to change the leadership of the public association, and Jyldyzbek Isakov was appointed to the position of its chairman during an illegal meeting. According to members of the association, strangers who are not related to Aikol Ala-Too, attended the meeting.
«Members of Aikol Ala-Too actively supported Sooronbai Jeenbekov’s candidacy for the post of president of the Kyrgyz Republic. Now we see that the people who have done everything possible and impossible for him to be elected president became his worst enemies, whereas those, who campaigned against him, became his associates,» the letter says.
April revolution heroes believe that the new government has embarked on the path of family and clan rule. They also note that, in addition to the persecution of Almazbek Atambayev and the victims of the April revolution, the new government did not do anything considerable for the country.
