National Bank of Kyrgyzstan is against any disclosure of bank secrecy. The Chairman of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic Tolkunbek Abdygulov told reporters.
According to him, the government’s decree on access to bank accounts is still under public discussion. After that, coordination with ministries and departments, including the National Bank, will begin.
«The National Bank has ever been and will remain an organization that is responsible for financial stability. Our position, which has been spoken about more than once, is as such: we are against any kind of disclosure of bank secrecy. This is possible only within the framework of the legislation of Kyrgyzstan, that is, at own will or by a court decision. We will continue to maintain this position,» Tolkunbek Abdygulov told.
Recall, the government of Kyrgyzstan submitted for public discussion a draft decree on approval of a plan of measures for the implementation of anti-corruption measures by state bodies of Kyrgyzstan for 2019-2021.
The document, among other things, says about creation of a centralized registry of bank accounts. According to the document, it will also contain information about beneficial owners and will be available to the investigating authorities without a court order in order to quickly identify bank accounts during financial investigations.
