About 60,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan risk to get into labor slavery. The Program Coordinator of the mission of the International Organization for Migration in the Kyrgyz Republic, Zhyldyz Akhmetova, stated this at a round table discussion «Violent extremism prevention and role of media.»
According to her, migrants who go abroad to earn money, for example, to Turkey, find neither work, nor housing, and become slaves. Mostly women are in the risk group.
Zhyldyz Akhmetova added that the problem was real and must be solved. Migrants are often recruited to banned radical organizations already in the country they came.
