More than 150 citizens who were wanted for terrorism were detected, detained and extradited by the joint efforts of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan in the second half of 2017 and the first half of 2018. The Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan Asylbek Kozhobekov stated at the meeting of the Regional Antiterrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
According to him, the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization have developed and adopted legal acts regulating such interaction.
«The competent authorities of the SCO countries ensured the exchange of information on the activities of the Islamic State, Jabhat Al-Nusra, Hizb ut-Tahrir, and the East Turkestan Islamic Movement. Special attention is paid to the challenges and threats emanating from people traveling to regions with heightened terrorist activity and returning to the SCO countries. In recent years, a large number of terrorist attacks in the organization’s countries have been prevented,» said Asylbek Kozhobekov.
He added that the adopted documents made it possible to make timely decisions to curb the subversive activities of terrorist organizations including in cyberspace.
