The supporters of the former parliament deputy, Karganbek Samakov, hold rally at the Bishkek City Court. The judges, chaired by Zhanyl Mambetaly, upheld the verdict of the first instance court today.
Recall, Karganbek Samakov and others are accused of illegal transformation of 262 hectares of land in Baytik, Lebedinovka and Kara-Dzhigach rural areas in Alamudun district. On December 19, the judge of the district court, Damirbek Nazarov, sentenced Karganbek Samakov to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Abai Tashtanbekov, Alikbai Sariev, Kubanychbek Samakov, Ernis Koichumanov and Urmat Nurdinov were sentenced to 8 years in a penal colony with reinforced security regime with confiscation of property under Article 303 (corruption) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Arstanbek Nogoev, Kurmanbek and Zhanysh Bakiyevs were sentenced to 10 years behind bars under Article 304 (abuse of office). All three are wanted.
Former Deputy Prime Minister, Igor Chudinov, and the former Minister of Agriculture, Iskender Aidaraliyev, were fined for 5 million soms each.
