The Government of Kyrgyzstan signed an investment agreement with the Chinese company Huawei on Smart City project.
The total amount of investments, as it was previously reported, will be $ 60 million. Within the framework of the agreement, work on the preparation of design estimates, equipment supply, construction, integration, operation and maintenance of Smart City project will be carried out. It will be implemented in Bishkek and Osh cities and on the roads Bishkek-Osh and Bishkek-Cholpon-Ata, on Bishkek-Manas Airport road.
Huawei has to ensure compliance of all equipment and services with the requirements for the protection of personal data, as well as the requirements for cyber security in accordance with the legislation of Kyrgyzstan.
«There is often information in the media that we have delayed the implementation of Smart City project. I always said that the work on the project would start on November 30, 2017. We started earlier — from the first day of my work as prime minister. Government resolution on Smart City project contains deadlines for its implementation, not completion. The implementation of the project will continue for a year and a half,» Prime Minister Sapar Isakov said at the signing ceremony.
