Prime Minister awards athletes for performance at 5th Asian Games

The Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sapar Isakov presented government awards to athletes, coaches and organizations that contributed to the successful performance of the team of Kyrgyzstan at the 5th Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts held in September in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. This was reported by the press service of the government.

«You showed your best qualities, performed as a team,» Sapar Isakov said. «I think such a large national team took part in the Asian Games for the first time and achieved such a great success.»

«Each your achievement and every medal reflected the potential of the national sport,» the Prime Minister said.

He noted that almost every second member of the national team of the country returned with a medal and in the final team competition Kyrgyzstan took the honorable 8th place from more than 60 countries. And this, according to Sapar Isakov, is something to be proud of.

Recall, at the 5th Asian Games in indoor and martial arts, domestic athletes won 13 gold, 20 silver and 37 bronze medals.

The national team included 153 athletes. They competed in 17 sports.
