Transformer weighting 260 tons delivered to Toktogul HPP through 3 passes

A 425 MVA transformer weighting 260 tons was delivered as part of the project «Rehabilitation of the Energy Sector,» the main component of which is the reconstruction of Toktogul Hydropower Plant. Press service of National Energy Holding JSC reported.

According to its information, the transportation was very labor-intensive: this is a single case in the history of Kyrgyzstan, when such cargo (weight of which together with equipment for transportation is 320 tons) was transported through three passes. Because of the heavy load, the transportation machinery failed. The difficulties in transporting the transformer were caused by sharp weather changes.

The transformer is reportedly manufactured by JOC Technical Engineering Co., Ltd. (PRC) for the replacement of the unit No. 2. All other equipment has already been delivered.

Its launch is scheduled for December.
